\n\n\n<m-wysiwig class=\"wp-block-components-wysiwyg\"><div slot=\"maincontent\">    <p class=\"intro\">The Washington, D.C. area has some of the worst traffic congestion in the United States, and with up to 200,000 vehicles on the roadway each day, drivers on I-66 in Northern Virginia experience 8 to 10 hours of daily congestion.<\/p>\n    \n\n\n<p>In 2016, the Commonwealth of Virginia selected I-66 Express Mobility Partners to finance, design, build, maintain and operate express lanes on Interstate 66 Outside the Beltway. The project is helping transform this critical Northern Virginia artery to relieve congestion, improve safety and provide more predictable travel times. The new express lanes <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.ferrovial.com\/en\/press_releases\/opening-i66\/\">opened in December 2022<\/a> and are <strong>helping move between 2,000 to 4,000 more people<\/strong> per hour along the corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"I-66 Express Lanes, the state of the art highway in Virginia  | Ferrovial\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Kf1fMOXwjUI?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I-66 is being expanded \u2013 from the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Gainesville (US Route 29) \u2013 to include three toll free general purpose lanes and two Express Lanes in each direction with a state-of-the-art open-road electronic toll collection system. Expanded transit service, park-and-ride lots, interchange enhancements and 11 miles of shared use path connecting existing and planned trails will further improve travel along I-66 while creating more multi-modal travel options. HOV 3+ will be able to access the Express Lanes at no cost. The project also includes modernized design enhancements which will improve safety throughout the corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Transform 66 Outside the Beltway P3 project is the first major procurement to follow Virginia\u2019s reformed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/business\/public-private-partnership-ppp\/\">Public-Private Partnership (P3)<\/a> process that was designed to increase accountability, transparency and competition in P3 projects. As an innovative and efficient public-private partnership, this project will be completed at a <strong>$2.5 billion net savings for the Commonwealth of Virginia.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">History<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2016, the Commonwealth of Virginia selected\u00a0I-66 Express Mobility Partners for the financing, design, construction, maintenance\u00a0and operation of the Interstate 66 dynamic toll located in the immediate vicinity of Washington, DC. The project is helping transform this critical artery in Northern Virginia to relieve congestion, improve safety and provide more predictable travel times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Investment<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our highways subsidiary, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/ir-shareholders\/significant-events\/ferrovial-informs-that-its-subsidiary-cintra-exercising-its-right-of-first-refusal-will-acquire-a-5-704-stake-additional-to-its-current-50-in-the-i-66-toll-road-project-usa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cintra, is a member of the I-66 Express Mobility Partners consortium, along with Meridiam and APG<\/a>. Together, we are investing more than $3.7 billion in Virginia\u2019s infrastructure over the life of this project. This includes the <strong>$2.3 billion project construction<\/strong>, a $579 million upfront concession fee to the Commonwealth to fund additional improvement projects in the corridor, $800 million to expand transit service in the corridor and $350 million for other projects to improve the I-66 corridor for 50 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The design-build contractor for the project is FAM Construction, a joint venture between <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/f-construction\/\">Ferrovial Construction<\/a> and Allan Myers, VA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Corporate Social Responsibility <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEM Education<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">I-66 Express Mobility Partners is committed to supporting the community it serves.\u00a0 In 2019, I-66 Express Mobility Partners presented two grants to the Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools to support <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ferrovial.com\/en\/stem\/what-does-the-term-stem-mean\/\">STEM <\/a>education at Stenwood and Marshall Road Elementary Schools in Vienna, Virginia.\u00a0<strong>Each school received $15,000 to expand STEM education programs.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, I-66 Express Mobility Partners expanded its support of STEM education with a grant to support the Prince William \u2013 Manassas Regional Science and Engineering Fair. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Fairfax County Parks<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>I-66 Express Mobility Partners has been supporting the Fairfax County Parks Foundation through its sponsorship of summer drive-in movie programs, and I-66 Express Mobility Partners employees teamed up for a beautification project at the Cub Run Recreation Center. The project has also delivered expanded parking and a new entrance to the EC Lawrence Park in Centreville, Virginia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Collect for Kids<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The I-66 Express Mobility Partners team also came together to assemble school supplies for underprivileged children at schools near the I-66 corridor as part of the Foundation for Fairfax County Schools <strong>Collect for Kids<\/strong> program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Food Drives<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The I-66 Express\nMobility
